My first experience with wanting to write came after I read The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks. I had only read for school assignments to that point. I did enjoy Lord of the Flies and I still have The Great Gatsby on my “to reread” list. It was the first time I had read fantasy. There were experiences with that genre in gaming, but something about reading it hit me in a way I never knew existed.

There are words which have been written and lost. Many of them, sadly. Stories I had written while growing up in notebooks that have been long lost. I have tried to recreate them, but it is hard to capture that same magic. The feel of the time, the emotions I was going through, and the person who I was all went into the story at the time.

The evolution of my writing and genres which I write has changed as well. I was at one time only writing fantasy. My works have then spanned to contemporary, dystopian, science fiction, and finally horror. Fantasy and horror have been where I am currently. My style and preferences are always changing.

Heavy influences in my writing are currently Terry Brooks, Sir Terry Prachett, and George R.R. Martin. Each of those authors has added something as well as countless others that have taught me something. The lessons range from the right amount of humor to how to choose your words.

Thank you for taking this journey with me. I enjoy writing and it has been one of the constants in my life. Please check out some of my past works as well as short stories I have posted that were created during my time at writing group or during creative writing sessions. Thank you again.
